Hello,
Partitive expressions may be referred to time or measure. You say a minute's delay ( the delay was of one minute), a week's work, a month's study, a year's research ( the research lasted one year). You also say a three weeks' holiday , a five minutes' walk, etc.
Not all temporal expressions , though, are partitives ,when temporal expressions are used as adjectives , they lose the S of the possessive genitive.
Therefore you say a five-day period ( with the hyphen), a ten-minute break !
