Grammar/The more...
Message from xiewanchen posted on 04-12-2013 at 11:39:37 (D | E | F)
Hello,

Could you help me please?

The more you know about your destination, the better-prepared you will be to anticipate problems that could have been avoided.
I don't understand this structure, please lend me a hand!
Thank you for your answers.

The more you know --> PLUS VOUS EN SAVEZ

the better-prepared you will be __mieux vous serez préparé.
It's up to you...

Hello.
The construction, the more you ___, the (more/better/other comparative) you will be, is fairly common.

The more you practice, the better your speaking will be.
The more you exercise, the healthier you will be.
The more you smile, the happier you will be.
The more you listen, the more you will understand.

Your example is just a little more complex.
The more you know about your destination, the better-prepared you will be to anticipate problems that could have been avoided.
The more you practice your English, the better-prepared you will be when you travel.
The more lessons you study on this site, the better-prepared you will be for the test.

I hope these examples are helpful. Sherry
