OHM..This must not be "beyond our control" (Valmont dixit)

... And now you have already enjoyed the joke (I hope),just translate it,will you ? Have a nice time, then !

See you soon.Your violet

Hi violet !
You're back. We missed you a lot ! So, here is my try. The story is pretty funny and hard to translate. Anyway, prose is the hardest exercise... To my mind...

Those who have children know ! Those who don’t have or not yet have to think about !

It is a last nursery year teacher’s story, in the middle of January, the most laborious month for everyone.
One of the kids asks her some help for put his boots and then go in playtime and, indeed, they are really difficult to put on.
After pushing, pulling, pushing again and pulling in all sides, boots are finally put on and the kid says :‘Teacher, they are reversed.’
The teacher has a heat stroke when she realizes that indeed, they weren’t well put.
Anyway, new hell to remove it and here we go again to put it on, but she manages to stay cool until the boots are well put.
Then, the kid tells her with children characteristic candor :
‘These aren’t my boots’
At this time, she makes a big effort not give him a slap, she turns round her, bitting her lips, calms down and wonders why he hasn’t told before…
As the kid sees he upset his teacher, he doesn’t answer
Then, she says :
‘So, we will remove it’ and she sets to work once again.
The second foot is almost out when the kid purchases
‘They aren’t my boots, this is brother’s one, but Mum told me I must put them.
There, she feels like crying, once again, she cools down and undertakes to put his boots again.
The working succeeds and the teacher feels proud to achieve his purposes successfully. To go all the way, she has him stood up, slipped on his coat, put his muffler and asks him :
‘Where are your gloves ?’
And the kid answers by the simplest way :
‘-I put them in my boots.’

Hello dear Violet, we are always there....

The ones who have children know! the ones who don't have ,or not yet, have to think about!
It's a story about a teacher's last year nursery school ,in the middle of January, the most difficult month for everyone....
One of the kids asks her some help to pull on his boots in order to go playtime and, indeed they really are very hard to slip on ...
After pushing, pulling, pushing again and pulling all over the place, the boots are put on, and the kid says:
-"they are on the wrong feet, teacher."
The teacher got a heatstroke when she realises there really was inversion of the feet...
Anyway,it's a second real paint to take them off and they'll have to be put on again, but she succeeded in keeping quiet till the boots are put on again on the right feet.
And there, the kid says with this ingenuousness that qualifies children:
"these boots aren't mine!"
At that time, she has to make a great effort not to give him a slap, she whirls around ,biting her lips, keeps quiet and asks him why he didn't tell her sooner?
As the kid realises he has irritated his teacher,he doesn't answer.
Then ,she says:
-"ok, let us take them off", and she goes back to work.
The second foot is nearly out when the kid keeps on:
"-these boots aren't mine, they are my brother's ones, but mummy
said I have to put them on."

At that point, she wants to cry, but,for the second time, she keeps quiet and begins to put his boots on ,again.
the process succeeds and the teacher feels proud to achieve success and to be through with her troubles.
To go all the way,she stands him up , makes him to pull on his coat, his scarf, and asks him:
-"where are your gloves?"
and the kid replies ,as though it was nothing:
-" I put them into my boots.

Sometimes, smacks on the bottom are lost, aren't they?

Hello! Thank you for this new exercise.

Those who have children can relate to this story; those who don't (or don't yet) can still be amused...

The following is a story from an instructor from last year's kindergarten. It is the middle of January; the longest month for everyone.
One of the kids asked her to help him put his boots on so that he could go out and play.
The boots were, indeed, very difficult to pull on.
After pushing, pulling, and pushing and pulling some more, the boots finally went on and the child said:
"They're reversed, teacher."
The teacher became flustered when she saw that they were, in fact, on the wrong feet.
"Here we go again!" the teacher thought. The last thing she wanted to do was to take those boots off again, but she calmed herself and finally got the boots on the correct feet.
Then the child, with all the candor that is characteristic of children, said:
"These are not my boots!"
At that moment, it took everything in her not to yell at the child*. But, composing and calming herself, she took a deep breath and she asked him why he hadn't told her that before.
The child, seeing that he had upset his teacher, did not respond.
Then she said:
"OK, let's take them off" and she once again went to work.
The second boot was almost off when the child added:
"These are not my boots, they are my brother's. But Mom said that I had to wear them."
At that, she wanted to cry. But, she once again calmed herself and undertook the task of helping him put his boots back on.
The task was finally complete and the teacher felt proud for having met her troubles with success.
Pulling herself together, the teacher helped him put on his coat and scarf and then asked him:
"Where are your gloves?"
The child responded as plain as day:
"I put them in my boots."

*In the U.S., it is taboo to talk of slapping or hitting a child in a story like this, even if you would never do it.

Dear Violet

Those who have children know! thoses who have not, or not yet, have to think about it.

This is the last nursery school teacher,s story. We are in the middle of January, the hardest month for everyone.
One of the kids asks her for helping to put his boots on to go out in playtime.Actually, they are very difficult to pull on.
After pulling, pushing again and again, they are finally put on.At that time, the kid said:"Mistress! they are not on the right feet"
The teacher flushed with disappointement when she had to face the evidence.Yes, indeed, they were on the wrong side.
Anyway, it was a new grind to put them off and put back again, but she succeeded to keep cool herself until the boots were on the right feet.
Then, the kid exclaimed with all the caracteristic ingenuousness of children:
-"they are not mine"
At that time, she had to make a great effort for not giving him a slap. She turned on her heels, biting her lips, and after calming herself down, she asked him why he didn't say that before.
As the boy realized he had upset his teacher, he didn't answer a word. Then, she said:
- "Good, let's take them off".
Once again, she set to work. The second foot was nearly out when the kid went on:
-" They are not my boots, there are my brother's ones, but mum said I have to wear them"
At that time she was about to cry. But, once again she kept quiet and started to put the boots on again.
The process succeeded and the teacher felt herself proud to be out of wood.
To end her work, she had stood him up, helped him to slip his coat, his scarf, and asked him:
-"Where are your gloves?" when the kid,naïvely answered :
-"I put them in my boots"

Bonjour violet91,
It's very interesting, the story

Those who have children would know! Those who don't, or not yet should be well prepared!
This story of a kindergarten teacher of the last level, in the middle of January, the hardest month for everyone...
One of the kids asks his teacher for help to wear his boots to go out playing in recreation period and, in fact, they are quite difficult to put on...
After having them pushing, pulling, re-pushing and pulling by all means, the boots are finally in place then the kid said:
- "They're reversed, teacher."
The teacher turns hot and blushed when she found, indeed, there were inversion of the feet...
Briefly, another effort to be made to re-do the task, but she succeeded in keeping her tranquility till the boots were put on, both good sides of each foot.
And voila, the kid went on with all the characteristics of the children:
- "They're not my boots!"
At that moment, she made a big effort to keep her from slapping him, went around by herself, her lips bitten, keeps calm and asks why he didn't tell her in the first place...
When the kid clearly saw he was upsetting his teacher, he didn't give any answer.
Then, she said:
- "All right, we take them off.." and she, herself, started another time.
When the second one is almost out, the kid continued:
- "This is not my boots, they're my brother's, but Mom said I have to wear them."
To that point, she really wanted to burst into tears, however, once again, she keeps quiet and attempts to re-re wear the boots for him.
The mission is finally accomplished and the teacher feels so proud of herself to be able to overcome all of her miseries with success.
In order to go to the end, she stood him up, helped him to wear his coat, put on his scarf, then asked him:
- "Where are your gloves?"
And the kid with the very simplest response:
- "I put them in my boots."
Oh! boy It likes a never ending story, huh
Best regards,

One of the kids asks her for help to put on his boots to go to recess and, indeed, they are really difficult to get on...
After having pushed, pulled, re-pushed and pulled in every way, the boots are finally in place and the kid says:

At that moment, it's all she can do not to slap him silly; she bites her lip and makes a full turn, calms down and asks him why he didn't tell her before..
As the kid sees that he's crossed his teacher, he doesn't answer.
She says then:

Bonjour,

Sorry so late...

Here’s the story of a school teacher during the last year of kindergarten in mid January, the most difficult month for everyone…

One of the kids asks for help to put on his boots for recreation. Indeed, they were very hard to put on.

After she pushed, pulled, pushed again and pulled every which way, the boots are finally on his feet when we says :
“They’re on the wrong feet, teacher,”
The teacher had a hot flash when she noticed that indeed the boots were on the wrong feet.
To make a long story short, nother round of taking them off, wrestling to put them back on but she managed to maintain her composure until the boots were back on the right feet.
And then, with all the candidness that is characterized by children, the kid says to her:
“These aren’t my boots!”
At that moment, she makes a concentrated effort to not slug him, spins around while biting her lip, regains her composure and asks him why he didn’t say that before.
Now that the kid sees that he upset the teacher, he doesn’t reply.
“Good, here we go, let’s take them off,” and she got back to work.
The second foot is almost out when the kid follows with :
“They’re not my boots. They’re my brother’s, but Mommy said that I have to wear them.
Now, she’s on the verge of tears, a second time, regains her composure and restarts re-putting the boots on him again.
The ordeal is finally over and the teacher feels proud to successfully see the light at the end of the tunnel.
To make it to the end, she stands him up, has him put on his coat, puts on his mask and asks him:
“Where are your gloves?”
And the kid replies in the simplest way in the world:
“I put them in my boots.”

Funny!

Hello Violet - Better late than never I suppose. Here is my version of your funny story.

This is the story of a kindergarten teacher and an incident which happened with her class in their final year. It is mid-January, probably the most difficult time of the year.

One of the children asked her to help her put on his boots so that she could go out to recreation and indeed she was having trouble getting them on...

So she obliged and after a lot of pushing and pulling the boots were finally on when the child said "They're on the wrong feet, Miss...."
The teacher got rather hot under the collar when she noticed that the boots were indeed on the wrong feet.

More bother trying to get them off and get them on again, this time on the right feet. That was when the kiddie stated candidly, typical of children of that age "They're not my boots!"

It was at this point it was all she could do to hold back a good slap, so she bit her lip and calmly asked the child why she hadn't told her this before. As the child could see that the teacher was getting rather frustrated she didn't answer.

So she said:
"Right! Come on, get them off" and she started all over again.

The second foot was almost out when the child went on.
"They're not my boots, they're my brother's but Mummy said I have to wear them."

At this point she was almost in tears but once again she calmed herself down and started to put the boots back on for a third time.

The operation was a success and the teacher felt proud that she had been able to finally get the boots on.

She helped the child up, put her coat and scarf on and asked her "Where are your gloves?

And the child quite innocently replied "I put them in my boots."

As I work in a primary school with Grand Section, I can appreciate the frustrating side of this story. It is rare that a child will question an adult to tell them that their jacket is inside out or similar. You have to be on your toes with youngsters!!!

Keep up the good work, Violet.
Regards Intrepid

-------------- Those who have children know ! Those who don't or not yet had better think about it ! --------------------------------

--This is the story of a nursery school upper* form female teacher, in mid-January , the hardest month for everyone.

--One of the little boys asks her to give him a hand with putting his wellies* on for playtime outdoors. And they prove to be quite a challenge..
After having pushed, pulled, re-pushed and pulled again * in all ways , the wellies are finally on . Then the kid says :

-" They're on the wrong feet , Miss ! "

The teacher gets hot under the collar since they ARE inverted ( "Out of the mouth of the babes and sucklings " comes truth, , doesn't it? ), still..

--In short , it is (new) hell to take them off and also to put them back on again, but she manages not to lose her temper until the wellies are definitely put on properly, on the right feet, that means.
That is when the darling specifies with that candidness so characteristic of children :

-" These are not my wellies !"

This time, she strains herself not to clip his ear (slap him silly) , makes a full turn ,biting her tongue ( her lower lip), calms down and asks why on earth he never thought of telling her before.

As the kid can see he has made his teacher cross, he would not utter a word.
Therefore, she says :

- "Alright then ! Let us pull them off, shall we ?"...And she starts all over again.

The second foot (Foot 2 !) is almost out when the kid adds :
- " These aren't my wellies ! They're my brother's, but Mummy said I have to wear them."

Now, she is just about to burst into tears but, then again ,she controls her nerves and bravely sets to work : re-putting the wellies all over again..

-A GOOD JOB she has done, at last ! She can be proud of the result ! (They both are out of the wood !)

To reach the very end, she stands the kid up (right in his boots!), gets him to put his coat on, ties herself his wool scarf around his neck and asks :

- " Where are your gloves ,now ?"

Thereupon, the little angel's (devil's !)reply sounds crystal-clear :

- " I put them in my WELLIES !"

.......Et woilà !..d'après une blague française qui circulait l'an dernier sur le net------------------------------------------------

Hi, Sabrinaa;

First of all, in English you separate your paragraphs; don't let them run into each other visually as you have done. Put an empty line between each paragraph.]

-------------

* Two years' course in UK (on the whole..as we'll see later)
* re-pulled..again : c'est un pléonasme choisi.
* Wellies (after Wellington) : les grands aristocrates britanniques se firent un jour confectionner des bottes (boots) en caoutchouc pour certains de leurs sports. La" marque" est restée..

-------Miriam's shoes.-------------------------------------------------------

It's late December and little Miriam is getting ready to leave school, but she needs help in putting her winter boots. So, Sharon (did they really mean that name?*), her teacher, comes over to help. The boots prove to be quite a challenge and even with Miriam pulling and Sharon pushing, the little boots didn't want to go easily. It took Sharon some time to get both the boots on Miriam's feet.
But then Miriam shouts out (British pupils would never do!), "Teacher, they're on the wrong feet !"
Sharon looks down and sure enough, they were. It wasn't any easier pulling the boots off than it was putting them on, but Sharon manages to keep her cool as , together, they work together to get the boots back on, this time on the right feet.
But then, Miriam shouts out (British pupils would never do!)," These aren't my boots, teacher."
Sharon bites her tongue (too)rather than shout at Miriam. " Why didn't you say so ?"Once again, Sharon struggles to help Miriam pull the ill-fitting* boots off her little feet. No sooner had they got the boots off when Miriam says, " They're my brother's boots, teacher. My mom made me wear them.
Now Sharon doesn't know if she should laugh or cry. But she musters up what patience she has left to wrestle the boots on Miriam's feet again. Then, helping Miriam into her coat, Sharon asks, "Now, Miriam, where are your gloves ?"
Miriam replies, " I stuffed *them in the toes of my boots, teacher."

PS. Sharon will soon be coming out of psychiatric care. (So, you were right, dear ariane!..)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

--J'ai respecté scrupuleusement la "mise en forme" .Ai fait des apartés(*****).("in an aside")
Pas question d'imaginer en " arriver aux mains"ici..(taboo to allude to that in the USA ,even as a thought or tacitly).

(I can't help teasing people )

Bonsoir ,mes chers p'tits mignons,

J'arriiiive..!

2 ) HAD BETTER think about it (before!!)/ aux.modal du conseil quand il y a DEUX choix .

To passengers/ Aux passagers/(+ en Allmnd..)
- Thank you for leaving your vehicle on the car park .
- Interdit de rester dans les véhicules !

- Bitte( svp, vous voyez! ),steigen Sie aus ihren Fahrzeugen ! (Danke Schoen , Freundin milo90 )

3 ) THIS IS the story : entrée en matière .Nous parlions ,allez savoir, de Kirkegaard auparavant! On se détend :Première blague.
-It is the story :on est comme aux "Grosses têtes"(television programme) où s'enchaînent les histoires.

4 ) An infant school(Latin "infans": il ne sait ni bien marcher, ni parler,ni le reste... a kindergarten( GERM.0-3 ans for "toddlers"?)).
-A nursery school (UK)(3 à 5 ans)
- A preschool (first schools "for children whose parents are unfit to teach them at home") (US,like Montessori's ones: -2.1/2 to 6)) or nursery school. Some schools are private ( selecting tests, interviews and very expensive)

--Comme a pair of lips !Lien Internet

- # a tennisman/tenniswoman. Pourtant ,enseigner tient parfois du sport !

7 ) In mid- January : style plus oral convenant au contexte. In the middle : tt à fait correct.

9 ) To ask to be given a hand ( voix passive )
To help : aider, secourir. To give a hand with +gérondif (BV -ING):aider en impliquant un effort physique.

To take off
: enlever.(et décoller by plane). To strip off : se déshabiller complètement.

Cela me rappelle " Mummy! Can I have my smarties ?" as Julian used to say X times at lunch L! Can I have the scissors ?" la même intonation chantante !!..

/Outdoors= in the fresh air!..Et "ça" s'ébroue et hurle!..

13 )To prove ['prv]( # a dove [dv]:tourterelle ) to be : s'avérer (preuve à l'appui)

16 ) The wellies : article appuyé = les fameuses..
Comme "Are you the Fauré ?

Remarquez! Ils ont bien "eight fingers ..and two thumbs" ! Scientifiquement correct !

Minutes historiques..vous pouvez vérifier : Lien Internet

Back to you, friends, as I promised.

."alors"... : cf.le texte.

20 ) To get hot under the collar (idiom) : prendre un coup de sang, voir rouge, ce qu'elle commence à ressentir .

D'autres expressions
: - to fly into a rage : enrager et "monter au créneau ,"grimper aux "rideaux"!
-To go mad with : perdre son contrôle , "la boussole" ,en devenir "dingue".( Nuts! Crackers!)
-To be driven up the wall, duckie !(Cockney): monter aux murs ,grimper aux rideaux.
-To hit the ceiling : se taper la tête contre les murs (le plafond en Anglais)....

21 ) " Out of the babes and sucklings..." expression biblique rafraîchie en "( The)truth comes out of children's mouth(s) .Les "sucklings" sont les purs , les petits innocents.

A l'aise !

22 ) Expression du "mais" : but, yet, still, nevertheless, and, though (en fin de déclaration), on the other hand..

24 ) It is hell comme " l'enfer ,c'est les autres !" ( "Huis-clos ( " No exit") by existensialist Jean-Paul Sartre )L'expression commune est devenue : l'enfer ! La galère !

Hello to all, mes chers petits mignons..me revoilà vers vous , pour un moment .Kiddies 2 and 3 s'annoncent à 17h.

Have a very nice Thursday , par Jupiter !

25 )To manage ['mni ( hello dear dolfine)] to or not to oui, notrepere,c'est usité). She manages [ 'mniiz ]not to lose her temper = to succeed in + gérondif = she succeeds in not losing her temper.(j'avais prévenu que la version de mon thème n'était pas définitive..): parvenir à , arriver à..mener à terme avec succés. (sinon : diriger, gérer, administrer. To get to or not to...: est plus vulgaire que se "débrouiller" à

--J'ai en effet remarqué que certains américanophones disaient ici : "manages to not lose." .Toujours Shakespeare qui nous sépare ! "To be or not to be.", pas vrai ?

27 ) Properly (Ooo) = correctly ># cleanly = proprement.

Children (and adults ,by the way) should always have a proper meal instead of a snack or a fattening hamburger! un vrai repas, quoi, sain et équilibré..ce que la plupart des cantines municipales tendent à faire aujourd'hui.

Sorry !

( il y a pourtant bien des vérités ).

[ After Bettelheim's suicide in 1990, detractors[who?] claimed that Bettelheim had a dark side. They alleged that he exploded in screaming anger at students, and went beyond firm treatment to corporal punishment or child abuse.[citation needed] Three former patients[who?] questioned his work and characterized him as a cruel tyrant. Other former patients[who?] wrote or spoke publicly to tell how much Bettelheim had helped them, so there seemed to be no consensus.[8]]

36 ) " A good job " you missed that plane (after hearing about the crash)= How lucky ..
" A good job she finished it successfully " :OUF ! Opération réussie (beau "boulot")= double-entendre
- She has done : double -entendre encore : elle l'a fait et fini !

37 )She is " out of the wood " (idiom) : elle est sortie du tunnel .

39 )To get somebody to (inf)faire faire à quelqu'un..avec effort.
= "She helped him into his coat"(cf."Miriam's shoes): l'idée d'enfiler est bien rendue.

43 ) -Little angel !
- Litttle monkey !(petit coquin(e))

That kind of stuff = that sort of thing.

46 ) The toes of the boots : le bout des bottes.

O Timothy Tim
Has ten pink toes
And ten pink toes

Has Timothy Tim.
They go with him
Wherever he goes,
And wherever he goes
They go with him.

O Timothy Tim
Has two blue eyes
And two blue eyes
Has Timothy Tim.
They cry with him
Whenever he cries,
And whenever he cries,
They cry with him.

O Timothy Tim
Has one red head,
And one red head
Has Timothy Tim.
It sleeps with him
In Timothy’s bed.
Sleep well, red head
Of Timothy Tim.

--Alors, now then , à ce TABLEAU D' HONNEUR ( je ne " crie " pas..je suis enthousiaste et ma voix doit porter jusqu'au Canada et aux USA ), j'appelle et remercie infiniment celles et ceux qui ont "retroussé leurs manches" (pull their socks up = you must work much more with your feet/legs than we do overhere!) à cette affaire de bottes !

-Ont "décroché la timbale" or "have brought home some bacon " !
