which one of these sentences is the right one:
"take the first turning on your left" or "take the first turn on your left"

hello, i agree your proposition gocon,the correct sentence is:
"Take the furst turn on your left",because the noun of the verb to turn is the turn.

Hi,
In Britain we say 'Take the first turning on the left'.
'turning' = the place where a road turns, especially where one road branches off from another.

Yet another difference between the English in the USA and the English in the UK!
To make it even shorter...we, in the USA, also say, "Take the first left."
