Bonjour,

Choose the right answer please.

1. Look, it 's raining!

b. has rained
c. 's raining
d. rain

2. She phoned me last week.
a. has phoned
b. phones
c. 'd phoned
d. phoned

3. The plumber has been working for two hours.(Le plombier travaille depuis deux heures)
a. has been working since ("since" ne pourrait se concevoir qu'avec indication du début de l'action)
b. is working for (la forme continue ne sert pas à décrire une action qui dure depuis un certain temps.)
c. has been working for
d. had been working since (meme cas que pour "a.")

4. The question is: does he understand? (Comprend-t-il, c'est toute la question ?)
a. do he (auxiliaire non conjugué à la 3ème personne)
b. is he (ne peut être suivi d'un verbe à l'infinitif sans to)
c. has he (après "has he", il faudrait le participe passé "understood"
d. does he

5. Did she see you? - No, she didn't (Vous a-t-elle vu ? - Non.)
a. has not (l'auxiliaire ne correspond pas à celui de la question)
b. didn't
d. did not do (idem)

6. When you meet Henry, tell him the truth.(Quand vous rencontrerez Henry, dites-lui la vérité.)

7. He will be able to help you.(Il pourra (sera capable de) vous aider.
c. be able to
d. be able (le verbe qui suit "be able" doit être introduit par "to")

8. They should have asked me.(Ils auraient dû me (le) demander)
a. would ("would" ne peut pas être suivi d'un participe passé (directement))
b. should have to ("to" ne peut pas être suivi d'un participe passé)
c. should have
d. should ("should" ne peut pas être suivi d'un participe passé)

9. We want her to leave at once.(Nous voulons qu'elle parte immédiatement)
a. that she leaves (to "want" ne peut être suivi de la conjonction "that".)
b. leave (il manue le "to": "we want to leave" serait grammaticalement correct)
c. her to leave
d. she leaves (mauvaise construction avec "that" en sous entendu)

10. Where does he live? (Où habite-t-il ?)
a. he does live (l'ordre des mots n'est pas juste)
b. does he live
c. does he lives (l'opérateur "does" est le seul à être conjugué)
d. he lives (il faut l'opérateur "do" conjugué pour faire les interrogations et les négations aussi aux temps simples)
