Bonjour,
Comment pourrais-je traduire je "faisais":
Peu importe ce que je faisais, ça n'était pas assez bien pour elle.
No matter what I did it wasn't good enough for her.

Hello, the French imparfait is usually translated by the past simple (if one is talking about a general past state) or continuous (if one is talking about how things were at a particular moment in the past). (Of course, the usual caveats regarding a verb's compatibility with the continuous aspect apply.)
"When I was young I worked in a kitchen. One day, while I was doing the dishes, ...."
Your sentence is perfect (with both "no matter" and "did"), but maybe insert a comma as in the original.
