Hello
I have been reading "DRACULA" by Bram Stoker, and I found this sentence :
I am not used to ride so long or to pursue as need be.
I was surprisedby finding to find : " to be used + infinitive."
Why can an infinitive be used here ?
I don't think it is a passsive form like in the sentence : "The car was used to help the robbers escape the crime scene."
Thank you
J.Rouquette

Hello
Be used to est suivi d'un gérondif.
It should write:
I am not used to riding so long or to pursuing as need be.

Keep in mind, Dracula is from Transylvania, so English is probably not his native language
