Family gatherings or holiday in France... Not too much time for these exercises... (though I recommend the "RACK YOUR BRAINS 9" one! )I stuck to "not too long" and "as varied as possible..."). I hope you'll have fun! Enjoy! date de d'affichage de correction :

I) Translate into English:

2) Mon père m’avait fixé des objectifs ambitieux, objectifs que j’essaie encore d’atteindre ... D’où il est, je l’entends demander: qu’est-ce qui t’a pris si longtemps pour gagner cette reconnaissance de la profession ?

3) Maxwell : Tu as fait fi de la perche que je t'avais tendue et qui t'aurait pourtant donné un sérieux coup de pouce. Soit ! Mais maintenant, tu auras besoin d'un plan d'action béton pour t'en sortir et tout remettre d'équerre.

III) PLAYING and WORKING WITH WORDS: Using THE 8 WORDS given below (the 2 verbs can be put in whatever tenses or forms you fancy), 2 adjectives, 2 nouns and 2 link words, (you CANNOT change the nature of the words!) and the suitable punctuation, scratch your minds and create AN ONLY meaningful SENTENCE.
Je vous rappelle qu'« une phrase », une seule, se termine par un point [final, d'exclamation ou d'interrogation], peut avoir de la ponctuation interne ",/; /:/[...], et qu'elle doit avant tout avoir un sens.
Le but ultime est de faire une seule phrase complexe, courte ( moins de 50 mots, si possible ...), mais je le répète, qui ait un sens et sa logique interne !) (You CANNOT use two or more compulsory words consecutively!)
Cet exercice est TRES difficile, c'est pourquoi il demande beaucoup de réflexion et d'attention, de rigueur aussi dans l'application des règles. Vous ne pouvez le poster QU'UNE FOIS (ne faire qu'un seul exemplaire)
La date limite pour cet exercice est le dimanche 12 novembre, tard.( 24h avant tout le reste!)
( Beaucoup de règles, j'en suis désolée ... mais déjà comme ça, c'est énormément de travail, et sans un effort de chacun, c'est ingérable. Je sais que plusieurs d'entre vous sont très attachés à cet exercice-jeu, qu'ils trouvent formateur and "mind-puzzling". Je vous rappelle cependant que vous n'êtes pas obligés de le faire ! FREEDOM! Voici les éléments imposés cette fois :

(to) HASTEN – (to) PLAY – THORN – LETTER – STRIPED – EXCRUCIATING - WHOSE – IF ONLY + une absence d’obligation.

Sorry to bother you but which is the second adjective? THORN? LETTER? or STRIPE? Didn't you mean Striped? Or do we have to combine stripe with another word to make an adjective ?

La date d'affichage de correction est le lundi 13 novembre, tard et pour l'adjectif, c'est STRIPED.(Happy you can read my mind, Maxwell!) Je n'étais pas très "au calme" lorsque j'ai posté (pour que les "weekend-workers" puissent s'avancer ! ) Un grand merci !
