Hello,
I'm going to try to turn a long story short but I know it's going to end up being long.
Is the word "being" used as "as" in that sentence? Like: I'm going to try to turn a long story short but I know it's going to end up as long.

Yes,it means I'm going to try to turn a long story short but I know it's going to end up as a long one. I think you need a noun or a pronoun after as here.
